A French style hotel located on street 264 and is in a fantastic location in the heart of the city. Facing the Wat Botum Vatey complex, which is one of the most sacred pagodas in the Kingdom of Cambodia. Only 5 minutes from the Royal Palace and within easy access of the city’s attraction areas such as Independence Monument, National Museum, Riverside promenade and a short tuktuk ride to Central Market. We stayed for the whole of November 2023 to enjoy the Independence Day celebrations at the beginning of the month and the 3 day Water Festival at the end of the month. November is an excellent month to visit Phnom Penh for activities and weather. Keo on reception was brilliant with very good English and always a beautiful smile. The hotel has a great restaurant which is open from breakfast through to dinner. The quality of the food is excellent. We had dinner on a number of occasions with a different choice each meal each time and we couldn't fault it. Suite 704 on the 7th floor with balcony facing Wat Botum was ideal and very spacious. Large bathroom, kitchen, very large king size bed and seating area. There is a sister hotel called the Palace Gate Hotel and Resort which is closer to the front of the Royal Palace on street 240 just across the Friendship square, where you can also use their facilities including an outdoor pool if you are looking for a tan. Just ask reception. When you get a tuktuk or taxi back to the hotel remember to say Palace Gate Hotel Street 264 otherwise they will probably take you to the wrong one. This was an excellent stay in an excellent hotel at an excellent price We will be back.

A very nice and solid hotel in a colonial-style building. The outstandingly friendly service, perfect location near the Royal Palace. Just 10 min by walk to the Royal Palace and river, 3-4 min by tuk-tuk. Spacious rooms, and very comfy beds. We got upgraded and enjoyed two bedrooms and a kitchen. Super breakfast with a lot of choices. They even had vegan milk which is not common in other hotels. Also very quick room service. Was convinient to leave a child to hotel room and she was able to order a food meanwhile we were out. The hotel had a cosy inside pool with a gym. Maybe not convenient for children, but for me was a brilliant swim. The lobby has a strong lemongrass smell which was a bit strong for my taste, but pleasant. It was lovely that the staff welcomed us whenever we arrived at the front door by grab or tuk-tuk. Also very quiet and we had good sleep in that hotel. Lot of TV channels- one night we just watched local TV channels - very entertaining:) Sadly didnt have time to try spa.

The whole property was beautiful. On arrival we were helped with our luggage by the staff at the entrance. On entering the lobby, we were impressed with the decor (and the beautiful smell). The staff on reception were efficient when checking us in. The room was lovely, especially 2 balconies. The bed, albeit a little hard, was comfortable. The shower always had hot water, and the products were replenished daily. Lots of storage. We used the gym, which was more than adequate with excellent machines, and towels and water provided. We did not use the swimming pool. However, it appeared well maintained with towels and seating available. It's a great location and easy to either walk or get tuk tuks to any location. The security was good, and the staff was always attentive when we returned each day. Housekeeping replenished water, towels, and coffee/milk and came in daily. Disappointed that we couldn't extend our stay and that we had to move hotels due to being full.

Exceptional quality hotel. The staff were so friendly and helpful, we spent a lot of time using the facilities at the sister hotel The Resort and this was a great bonus. We were treated extremely well by the staff in both hotels, Sopat (food and beverage manager) was so professional and went out of his way to make sure that we had anything that we wanted and always made a point of coming over to see us whenever we were around. Bo (security guy who tried to teach us Cambodian) was very patient with our efforts. Chor, Death, Bootie. The list is endless and we have never known such amazing customer service. Nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff. The food was excellent at both hotels with a great variety. The pool was lovely. Everywhere was exceptionally clean. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

We had a Premier Double Room with Temple View (see photos) and it was perfect! Huge apartment style room, with kitchen, lounge with a great sofa, dining area, desk, bathroom, and fantastic bedroom with the super comfiest bed. Staff were very friendly and helpful, my partner was ill during our 6 days in Phnom Penh (3 nights at this stay) and they kindly allowed me to take bread and bananas from breakfast buffet for him. I used the lovely pool and gym, both really nice. I would certainly stay here again if we were ever back in the city. There was an enormous fireworks display on our last night and we saw the whole show from our room 🥰
